Amanda Bell

In 2013 and 2015 she received the All State Board Award. In 2016, She received the prestigious Raleigh Dingham Award and Advisor to the State Board of Education for one year. She was appointed to serve on Public School Forum Advisory Board, by Governor Roy Cooper in 2018.

 

In the county she serves on the School Health Advisory Council, the UNCG/Moss Street Advisory Board, the Community Action Council, the Student Health Centers Board of Directors, serves on the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Board and the AIG Advisory Board.

 

In 2014, she received the NAACP Civil Rights Memorial Award for her past accomplishments in the area of civil rights in the community.

In 2014 she was recognized by her church as a “Woman of Worth” for her community volunteer service beyond home,  job and church.

She is a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Hubbard Street where she serves on the Senior Usher Board, the Education Committee.and Mission Group 3.

She is married to Roy F.  Bell. Together they have four children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 

Education, service, leadership and commitment to the children in our public schools have all  been the cornerstones of her tenure on the  Rockingham County School Board. She is a lifelong learner who has demonstrated  her willingness to "stand up for public education".
